Lamar out at Braun
« Thread started on: Jun 22nd, 2009, 2:00pm »

As Braun Racing prepares for the 2010 NASCAR season, the Mooresville, NC-based team is beefing up its driver line-up for a potential run for the Nationwide Series Owner's Championship. Brian Vickers will continue to pilot the #32 Dollar General Toyota Camry throughout the 2009 season as originally scheduled, which includes the next three Nationwide Series events. Vickers will be joined by a strong team of drivers who will replace Burney Lamar in the schedule. A formal announcement regarding the team's new members will be released separately.

Braun Racing officials have released Burney Lamar from his role as a part-time driver with the NASCAR Nationwide Series team, effective immediately.

Sprint Cup driver Brian Vickers is already scheduled to compete in the next three races in the team's No. 32 Toyota. Officials hope to name a driver or drivers for the remaining races at a later date.

“Burney Lamar is truly a standout guy who has great potential to be successful in this sport,” team owner Todd Braun said in a news release. “I wish the best for him in his future endeavors.”

He's had acouple of good breaks, but I think he's has some bad luck. If he came up 5 yrs ago, he would be in cup by now. The sport has changed and owners want big names to bring in the bid sponsors. Again, Burney will rebound. I wish him luck.

Really bummed ---wish him luck in finding another ride. Felt it coming with Vickers finishing so much better when he was in the car. Hope he finds something by Dover--bought tickets only because Burn was running--no love for anyone else in Nationwide.
